Habiba Samir

Psychotherapist

Habiba earned her MSc in Mental Health and Psychological Therapies at Queen Mary University of London, and her BA in Psychology from the American University in Cairo; she is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society. Habiba is able to integrate attachment-based therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She has also been training in schema therapy and is actively training remotely in compassion-focused therapy (CFT) at International Counseling, Switzerland.


Habiba has worked in both hospitals and private settings as a therapist over the past five years, which has given her a wide range of experience. Her training at prestigious hospitals such as Kasr El Maadi, The Behman, and Kasr El Einy gave her wide and valuable exposure to working with personality disorders, psychotic and mood disorders. Habiba worked as a school counsellor for two years, where she helped children and adolescents with problems such as grief, bullying, anxiety, substance use, self-harm, anger, and conduct problems. In addition, Habiba is able to work with issues such as low self-worth, depression, anxiety, OCD, relationship problems, and Trauma. She provides psycho-education to help clients learn mindfulness, emotional regulation, and compassion.

Habiba believes that there’s an inner child in all of us that may be wounded but has the potential to heal and thrive. She is passionate about working with intense feelings such as sadness, shame, guilt, fear, and anxiety. Habiba believes that every client is unique and deserves a personalized approach. She provides her clients with a non-judgmental and safe environment to help them explore and reflect on both their difficulties and strengths, and to help them learn new and helpful tools.
