Ola Barakat
Clinical Psychologist
Ola Barakat is a Clinical Psychologist/psychotherapist who graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Psychology, Ain Shams University in 2011. She completed her clinical diploma in 2013 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree. Ola received training at Abbaseya Hospital and Banha Mental Health Hospital and has worked in various civil society organizations supporting victims of sexual violence, domestic violence, and torture, as well as in private clinics. She holds certificates as a cognitive behavioral therapist (CBT) from the Egyptian Society for Cognitive Therapies, a dialectical behavioral therapist (DBT), and an acceptance and commitment therapist from the Egyptian Institute for Psychological Therapies.
Additionally, she is a trauma therapist qualified in using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She is also certified as a group therapist by the Egyptian Society for Group Therapies, a schema therapist by the International Society for Schema Therapy, and an Addiction therapist by the Ministry of Health and the General Secretariat for Mental Health.
With over nine years of clinical experience, Ola specializes in treating Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Personality disorders, Mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and Eating disorders. Ola’s therapeutic approach is holistic, tailoring her methods to each individual’s unique needs and experiences. She employs a range of techniques to assist clients in achieving their objectives, including but not limited to: helping them develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their issues, identifying and modifying negative thoughts and behaviors, enhancing their coping mechanisms, cultivating healthier relationships, and promoting overall well-being.
