Farah holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from City, University of London. Her science-based degree gave her extensive insight into the world of biopsychology. Farah has also received training by Trauma Aid UK on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). A therapy approach designed to reduce symptoms for a wide range of disorders such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse
Farah has experience working in various settings. She received training in the mental health department of El Rakhawy Hospital for mental health as well as in the 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital’s psychology department. She also worked in the rehabilitation unit at Kasr Al Ainy Psychiatry for 2 years, where she provided both individual and group therapy sessions for those suffering from substance abuse disorders. She also worked at Médecins Sans Frontieres for two years, providing individual and group therapy sessions for refugees.
Farah has experience working with adults, adolescents, and families in settings of both individual and group therapy. She has experience working with substance use, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, and self-esteem.
Farah uses an integrative approach to treatment that combines cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative exposure therapy, and eye movement desensitization. This approach considers individual differences and tailors the therapy to fit the needs of each client. She believes that this approach respects the unique needs of each client and provides a safe place for the clients to reach their full potential in therapy.
