Salma El Baradie

Psychotherapist

Salma is currently doing her doctorate in Existential Psychotherapy with the New School for Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling. She holds an MSc in Health Psychology from Leiden University in the Netherlands and a Bachelor’s degree from the American University in Cairo in Psychology.

She has experience working with underprivileged and marginalised members of the population in the areas of trauma and recovery, as well as coping with divorce. These include adults, children, and adolescents through an integrative approach that works to alleviate distress and inner conflicts by addressing thought processes, feelings, and behaviour. Techniques used include but are not limited to cognitive behaviour therapy and art therapy.

She has also worked extensively with children and adolescents in the areas of behaviour management and addressed parenting concerns regarding issues such as anxiety, depression, time management, self-discipline, drug and alcohol experimentation, and sexuality concerns.

Salma is very interested in the therapeutic journey, which is when people learn about and solve their inner problems by identifying bad thought patterns and behaviours and replacing them with better ones.
